Along with the development of high dam's construction in our country, It is not so satifactory to the need of safety, efficiency and economy using the regular dissipators. Therefore, people have created various high-efficient dissipators and obtained a great achievements.Plug-dissipator is a high-efficient inner-dissipator. It has many strongpoints such as 1 .structure is simple, easy to construct, little investment, and not need special intake. 2. the ratio of dissipation is high, operation is safety. 3. due to dissipated in the tunnel, atomization will not be indued.This article based on the test result to study the hidraulic property of the plug dissipators using the numerical simulation method.Firstly, followed a great of literatures, the regular dissipators and its new development in our country are summarized, the background of this article is introduced and the theoretical foundation of numerical simulation is specified.Secondly, two dimensions axis symmetry plug was simulated numericaly applying program FAST-2D. The computational results preferably accord with the test data, the errors are less than 5%. This fact validates that it is doable to simulate the plug dissipation applying k-s turbulence model. On this base, the multi-plug's disposal is optimized and the formula of the minimum pressure in the tunnel with plug is obtained.Lastly, using commercial program, FLUENT, to compute three dimentions non-axis-symmetry plug's dissipation. Using program GAMBIT generates the mesh. The following conclusions are found with analyzing the result computed. 1, Single plug's dissipation is independent of the disposal of plug but dependent of the ratio of the plug's area and the tunnel's area only. 2, for the multi-non-axis-symmetry-plug, the dissipation will be increased obviously.
