As a wide used engineering material, prestressed concrete has been developing very fast, representing one of the latest technologies in civil engineering. It offers the engineers a fabulous tool to solve the problem of designing the wide space structures. However, it is hard for the engineers to find an appropriate software to design the prestressed concrete structures. The author manages to develop a Prestressed Concrete Frame Structure CAD software (PCF) to solve part of this problem.PCF is finished under the popular flat Visual C++6.0, which is applicable to Windows 9X/Windows NT/Windows 2000. The software makes full use of the advanced computer technologies, including C/C++ Windows programming, Microsoft Foundation Classes, transferring data with Mapping files in memory and thread, operating visibility and developing drawing system with Object ARX technology.PCF consists of three parts: preprocess, calculating kernel and post-processing. The data used by calculation program and post-processing are formed by dialog boxes, and fed back by figure. A finite element program which considers the influence of axial deformation can analyze the prestressed concrete frame structure, then the structure is designed according to the code of concrete structure GBJ10-89. Post-processing can give the result of calulation by text file and graph, and plot construction drawings in AutoCAD .The authors provides a new method named Limitation Coefficient of Tension Stress Method, which can calculate the quantity of prestressed tendons, taking the prestressing secondary moment into account. Using this method, PCF can automatically fulfill the requirements of crack-controlling, and unifies the calculating method of the quantity of prestressed tendons under different crack-controlling.
