At present,rock-socketed piles are commonly used as foundations.The current design methods are still defferent from the real bearing machanism and need to be developed.In this paper,the construction and testing techniques on rock-socketed piles are summarized detailly.Defferent construction and testing techniques should be applied to defferent type of rock-socketed piles. The strict controlling of the construction and testing quality is the effective approach to make full use of the bearing capacity of the pile and soil.Based on the current theories,an improved calculation model is proposed with which the pile-soil load transfer machanism can be taken into account and the corresponding formulas are derived herein.According to the formulas based on the improved model and in-site data,the bearing capacityof the rock-socketed piles can be deduced by means of the top pile settlementCombined with a project,the testing methods and calculation theory proposed in this paper are carried out and peferable efficiency is obtained.
