According to the systematic test and analysis of the mineral composition, compression-dilatation performance and physical-mechanical characteristic of the soil at representative embankment and expansive soil at typical excavation slop along the Xiang-Wu sect NO.1-NO.5 construction contract part and the conjunction of HanShi-XiangJing NO.1-NO.2 content section in HuBei province in this paper. The. engineering property of modified lime clay is also tested and researched, and we know the natural condition facts involving in the subgrade construction in swelling soil zone and master the contrary countermeasures. The paper inquires reasonable technology of treating the subgrade in expensive soil region with modifying lime approves its reinforcement effect and raise the corresponding measure to ensure the construction quality. The best combination that not only can satisfy the compacting criteria and the CBR but also can shorten the construction period is chosen. Design and construction scheme, staff and machinery organization are optimized. Together with the real-time monitoring in site, the road bed construction quality and tempo are guaranteed.The test and research on the basic characteristic of the expansive soil and modified lime clay along the road are taken in this paper. The corresponding standard of filling embankment is also raised. In order to finding out the main controlling fact and regularity that affect the CBR value of expensive soil , the relationship of CBR value and engineering characteristic of expensive soil is researched in the paper...
