According to thermal comfort theory, adopting radiation directly acting to human's body, people can also feel comfortable even if indoor air temperature is relatively higher in summer and relatively lower in winter than that of convection heat-supply which means that it is evident energy-saving as to the traditional convection heat transfer. However, single radiation system cannot meet people's demand to fresh air. Fresh air of natural ventilation comes directly from outdoor and cannot be re-polluted so it's effective to improve the indoor air quality. Therefore, if radiation means is combined with natural ventilation and made up of one new type of air-conditioning-"radiant panel + natural ventilation". This new type of air conditioning can both satisfy people's demand to thermal comfort and indoor air quality and has the mighty potential of energy conservation.Because the new type of air conditioning-" radiant panel + natural ventilation" presented in this paper has not been applied in practice yet, it is illustrated based on its feasibility here. Firstly, system cooling load, ventilation flux and thermal and humid processing were calculated and its feasibility was showed from the temperature, humidity of indoor air and fresh air flux.The advantage of this air conditioning, that is energy conservation, is for energy to overheat or overcool air in traditional air conditioning is saved with radiation directly acting to human's body. So, the radiant heat exchange between human body and enclosure was made as main point of this paper that the radiant heat exchange model was established and the radiant heat exchanges of different human body in different sites were calculated in detail. In the following chapter, the energy conservation of air conditioning system with this new type was analyzed and the indoor thermal comfort was evaluated by indoor mean radiant temperature so the feasibility of this new type of air conditioning was primary demonstrated.Finally, from the feature of this type of air conditioning, the optimization, control and design of air conditioning system with this new type were discussed mainly from the heat transfer of radiant panel and natural ventilation flux.This new type of air conditioning is suitable for ordinary civil buildings, especially of housing and office buildings. So, it is believed that it will be appliedwidely in air conditioning projects in practice.
