The Bamboo Green Design Concepts

Today, as the urbanism speeding up, people consider building not only as a shelter against storm and rain, but also a bridge to the nature. How to concert the relationship between human and natural are an important research subject in the architecture and interior area, and also an unavoidable problem in the sustainable development.Wood material as human life necessities has and will have a deep relation with our life. But limited by the recycling of the wood resource itself and the living surrounding, it is urgent that we should find out some other material instead of wood. Long history in Chinese culture, bamboo is an ideal supersede that we can use today. Limited by the technology, the usage of bamboo always stayed in the area of row material before. With the development of technology, especially the improvement of polyboard technology, it opens a new door to the usage of bamboo. Now, compared with wood in physiology and chamical characteristic, the advantage of bamboo give us more expectation to the further usage.On the technology level, the abroad study and application (such as Japan, Canada, Germany, etc.) are far beyond China. One part of the abroad study is the new application and usage of bamboo, such as Japan, Canada, etc. Using bamboo is to make up the disadvantage of wood material and reduce the quantity of them, so that the rate of rot material usage can be raised up and the using random can be widen. On the other hand, the study can fulfill the demands of living environment that more families pursue, such as the American requirements of wood structure and the improvement of the low income families' living environment made by the ESfBAR (International Network For Bamboo And Rattan).On the cultural level, we should realize that bamboo has a long and abundant history in our country beyond any other ones. This is another important subject that we should do.This thesis has carried on the research of Green Design of Bamboo as follows: first of all, it introduces the general survey of the green design concept of bamboo from the aspects of symbolism, cultural anthropology and ecology. Then, it analyzes the future of the application ofthe green design of bamboo. Finally, it points out the comprehension of the green design concept of bamboo from the symbolism, cultural anthropology and ecology, and the concept of "reforming the green space" by the development of ecology.On the end of the thesis, the author suggested that the usage of the bamboo that we have done isfar from enough. We follow the way that pioneered by our ancestors, while we have the technology and theory conditions that they had not, so we should get more glorious production today.
