It is studied in this dissertation to use linear matrix inequality(LMI) inthe design of observer. The dissertation focuses on the design of observerof uncertain linear time-delay systems. The main results can be listed asfollows:The H~∞ controller is designed for the linear uncertain time-delay systemswith state delay and input delay via LMI, and also the stability performanceof the systems is studied when time-delay is added in the observer.For uncertain interconnected systems with state delay, the observer isdesigned and the stability of the system is discussed.On the base of design of continuous system, the observer of discrete-timesystems with state delay is derived.At the end of the dissertation, it is studied that the different responseperformance at the different restrict condition, and some principle is derivedabout the choice of parameter of LMI in the design of observer.
