The hypersonic flow past a cone and a axisymmetrical object are calculated by Taylor-Maccoll model and characteristic theory respectively to generate waverider configuration including Cone -derived, Osculating-Cone and Osculating-Axisymmetry. The performan ce computation of these waverider configurations such as lift, friction drag,wave drag,lift-to-drag ratio,length,volume,volumetric efficiency,e ct, are presented. Investigation shows that these waveriders have high lift-to-drag ratio; semivertex angle has the greatest influence on the Cone-derived and Osculating-Cone waveriders; the flow capture curve's curvature and the inlet height are the other important parameter which play an important role on the Cone-derived waverider and Osculating-C one waverider respectively;the friction drag occupies the predominant position in the drag when the waverider require high volumetric efficiency,so the beginning design of waverider must take into account the friction drag.The generation and performance computation of waveriders testify it's incomparable performance as hypersonic vehicle and aeroplane configurations:high lift-to-drag ratio,the inverse and the integration design.The nonlinear simplx method with punish function are used to optimize the Osculating -Cone waverider with lift-to-drag ratio as the objective function and volumetric efficiency .length as limitation. Investigation shows that the optimized waverider can obtain higher lift-to-drag ratio;the waverider optimizing process must take into account all kinds of constituents not for the only or a fewobjectives.
