The numerical simulations for reliability of structure and mechanism are fully studied in this thesis, including the calculations of random failure probability and random fuzzy failure probability(general failure probability). First, the creation and development of reliability are reviewed. Then, several numerical simulations for reliability are fully studied. And the numerical simulations for general failure probability are also fully studied in the thesis. Finally, the fore-studied simulations are developed to analyze the reliability of flexible linkage mechanism. The detail of the thesis is described as following.First, the creation and development of both random reliability and general reliability are reviewed, including the advantages and limitations of every kind of classical methods. Some boundary methods are mentioned, which have achieved remarkable success in the fields of system reliability. However, the numerical methods are more versatile, with higher precision comparing with others. The Monte-Carlo simulation method, importance sampling method, descriptive sampling method, truncated importance sampling method, and the combination of descriptive sampling method and other simulation methods are studied in the second part of the thesis. These methods are developed into the application of both singlemode and multi-mode structure or mechanism. The numerical simulation modes of calculating general reliability are presented in the third part of the thesis, also combined with fore-mentioned simulations. In this part and the second one, the mean value, variance, coefficients of failure probability, which were calculated through the studied methods, are deduced out. Finally, special software, which could calculate the coefficients of the limit state function of the flexible linkage mechanism is used to deduce out the unknown coefficients of the limit state function. After the function was achieved, both random reliability and general reliability are calculated through the above methods for the flexible linkage mechanism.
