The object of this article is to offer a design method for urban street. Interface.Urban designers and architects are facing a challenge from a rapid changing world, which is associated with social, economical, environmental and technological aspects in 21 century. This article try to introduce a urban design method by taking system theory in consideration of logical explanation. CHANGSHA BOULEVARD URBAN DESIGN process is careliully studied, and different approaches for a good urban design method are investigated.Chapter One to Three give a precise description on the origin of street and street design in relating with urban planning and architecture theories, arise the concept that street is both the carrier of the abundant life and key component of all function in a city. Street, on the one hand, grows smoothly and presenting naturely and freely, and on the other hand, seems to change randomly and has many meticulous details, which are deposited by the histroy and culture for many years.Chapter Four to Five analyze "physical-modeling" and "mental-modeling" to base on the street origin and times taking system theory and the practical research in CHANGSHA BOULEWJID URBAN DESIGN, which in the proceeding both rebuilding in old block and building new road. Author introduces the composing factors of "physical-modeling" and "mental-modeling", with the relation of each modeling and how to use it in the urban design. So, wishing to a "both-winning", not only presents the history and culture details and humanly scenes deeply, but also constructs the most characterful street interface with having capacity to take the modern commercial competition.Chapter Six points out the system-composing-patten of streets interface, which is maked up of "physical-modeling" and "mental-modeling" which based on the design. A systematism design is formed by environmental-balance which is the major idea in the design, blurry-handle and dynamic-dispose which is the way in the design. So, it can annotate the definition and meaning of streets in the information epoch, satisfy the human's psychology and behavior demands which have continuously progress.
