Along with the progress of the technology, the study on the character and movement rule of fluid is going more and more deep. As the fluid is in the section with complex boundary figure, the measure for it is very hard. In addition, due to the limitation of physical model test, the experiment can only afford the parameter for whole flow, while the numerical simulation can offer the detailed information for correlative flow. Because of the strongpoints in numerical simulation, it has become an effective means for hydrodynamics. In large numbers of numerical simulation methods, FLUENT is a good method. With its application to fluid simulation, we can get the total distribution of each fluid parameter. The computation with FLUENT is simple, fast and convenient and the precision is fine. It not only can simulate laminar flow and turbulence but also can simulate incompressible viscous flows and compressible flows, so it has great practicability. This article studies separated flow in sudden expansion region , plug-dissipator model and the three-dimensional flow in duct with FLUENT.Firstly, the thesis introduces the theory and application of FLUENT and explain its grid, physical models, boundary conditions, turbulence model and solver.Secondly, separated flow in sudden expansion region (when Re is relatively small) is studied. What's more, the stream function, vorticity magnitude and velocity vectors are displayed.Thirdly, plug-dissipator is simulated numerically and the results conform to experiment well.Lastly, separated flow in sudden expansion region with large Re and the three-dimensional flow are calculated. All of those show the wide application of FLUENT.
