According to the regression analysis of sediment concentration and the spectrum of water get by open-air spectrometer, and based on the previous remote sensing study on suspended sediment, the quantitative remote sensing model for suspended sediment is set up in the paper by taking Nanjing segment of Changjiang river as study area. This study has educed the following findings and conclusions:1. Through the regression analysis of the in suit data of spectrum and sediment concentration, build the quantitative remote sensing model. This method prevent from the problem of the data out of step.2.In water spectrum measurement, adopt the method put forward by NASA, Examine out the radiance of water, sky scattered light and standard reflecting board, and then calculate water-leaving radiance, input irradiance on water surface and remote sensing reflectance etc. At last get the remote sensing reflectance of each band of ETM +sensor by the respondfunction. That is traditional method cannot do.3.Through statistical analysis of spectrum and sediment concentration, find that the correlation coefficients are small (TM, is 0. 5018, TM 2 is 0. 0106, TM , is 0. 1570, TM 4 is 0. 7422). But the correlation coefficient between sediment concentration and the ratios of the radiances of TM4 and TM i is 0.9579.4. Through the regression analysis, get the quantitative remote sensing model: S = 3.6913 ?R + 0.6028 (S is the sediment concentration, R is the ratio of the radiances of TM 4 and TM i). By this mode, using satellite picture, get sediment concentration distribution map in study area.
