A numerical method, where the pressure is used as a primary dependent variable, is presented for the solution of the two-dimensional steady Navier-Stokes equation in general curvilinear coordinates. SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) is mainly accepted. A computational procedure has been established for computing turbulent flow of cascade. The procedure is based on the fully conservative, structured finite volume framework, within which the girds are non-staggered and collocated such that all flow variables are stored at the same set of nodes. To suppress the pressure oscillations while using non-staggered grid arrangement, the pressure-weighted interpolation method, proposed by Rhie and Chow, is conducted. The k-ε model is utilized to describe the turbulent flow process, and the retarded density is used for the computation of the incompressible flow.QUICK method, which was adapted to non-uniformly grid and implemented by an additional source, was adopted for high-required precision. The procedure is used to calculate the incompressible and compressible turbulent flow of cascade. The agreement between the calculated numerical results and experimental data or other numerical results available in literature is good.
