The quantity to the construction design of the underwater vehicle and trajectory design has got the important influence,the added mass produced by underwater vehicle in fluid because of fluid and solid coupling has submultiple of mass, so understanding added mass to the design of the underwater vehicle have got the important meaning, in this paper using hydrodynamics to proceed to the added mass the foundation that described, integrating the physics meaning of frequency response function in The Mode of Vibration Analysis theories, according to system parameter identify theories, put forward that frequency response function test data identified the method that added mass of the underwater vehicle. This way make use of the frequency response function to get mode parameters of the system, and make use of their orthogonality to identify mass matrix of that system, and according to the difference of the identifying result between in the air and in the water ,this way compute added mass of the system.The method not only calculated the whole added mass, but also could compute its distributing on the underwater vehicle. Emulational instance of calculating testified this paper validity and feasibility, the result expressed the method valid and have the very high accuracy, and satisfied the engineering applied demand.
