Locomotive Diesel Engine Under Low Temperature Conditions, The Use Of Low-grade Diesel

It is an efficacious method that inferior brand diesel oil is used on locomotive diesel engine in cold weather to economize energy sources and increase economic benefit. This paper expatiated interrelated theories, methods and technology measures. The factors of using inferior brand diesel oil in winter were researched and analyzed generally. To use 20# light diesel oil in winter on locomotive diesel engine, oil tank and pipe laying of locomotive depot in Suihua were heated preservation adopting advanced technology, and load-unload and provision of diesel oil were arranged reasonably. These measures guaranteed the temperature of the diesel oil over 0?. There are some problems in the pre-heat system of DF4 type locomotive diesel engine, so some reconstructive experimentations were done on the equipments including that the inflow pipeline of the fuel injection pump, linking bypass for fuel and adding electric heating jacket to back oil pipe of fuel system, and the thermo-control valve was installed before the entry of the inflow of locomotive fuel pre-heater. The running experimentation told us that the pre-heat of the reconstructive locomotive diesel engine is good, and 10# diesel oil can be used in cold winter.
