Night vision technology, opening up human vision sense has developed rapidly and been widely used since its arising in the thirties of the twenty century. Especially in the area of the Low-Light-Level(LLL) night vision technology for investigating into realization of normal observation under the condition of low illumination, products of four generations have been already developed successfully, and have wide application prospects in the areas of national defence, customs, high-speed photography, security reconnaissance, vehicle driving, etc.Electric-optical performance test methods for LLL night vision devices are investigated systematically, difference between the spectral distribution of the normal radiation source and practical night sky radiation analyzed, referring to the principles and methods of star magnitude and sun light simulations at home and abroad, selecting proper radiation source devices and implement ways, two typical night sky radiations-full moon radiation in clear night sky and star radiation in inter lunar clear night sky are simulated, and radiation source device for local simulating typical night sky radiation made up. The testing results of LLL night vision devices under normal radiation source and simulated night sky radiation source are compared and analyzed, reasons of difference between the testing performance by use of normal radiation source and the field practical performance of LLL night vision devices found up, it has certain value for optimization of LLL night vision systems design, and very importance in the practical use of LLL night vision devices.In this research, the resolution and luminance gain have been measured by use of typical night sky radiation simulation source at home for the first time, having changed traditional electric-optical performance test of LLL night vision devices. Therefore, a testing way is provided for reflecting the actual combat performance of LLL night vision devices in laboratory and this is a preliminary exploration for building up night sky radiation simulation laboratory.
