Paper introduces the status quo and developing trend of high-speed railway in and abroad. With the rapid development of our economy, the restriction of the rail transportation is becoming severer and severer, so it is very necessary to develop our own high-speed railway. Ballastless slab track is the main stream of slab structure for high-speed railway abroad now. The application of polymers in the slab track can not only enhance the performance, but also can reduce the cost to a certain extent. Developing new materials that have not been studied and used in China but have good foreground of use abroad is of great significance to our country. In the paper, through the comparison with some other macromolecule materials, the polyurethane elastomer can reach the requirements and can substitute for CA sand slurry best.Because of the spot limitation during construction of ballastless slab track when polyurethane is used as filling material, it is impossible to heat during the polyurethane cure process, and the period is long. Aimed at the shortcoming, it is necessary to discuss and establish a fast-experiment way that can be used in lab. First, through DSC and FTIR, the post cure temperature is determinated. Secondly, according to the fact, the post cure time is determinated. Finally, compare the properities of sample which is postcure with that which is not postcure. The result proves that using this fast-experiment way can consumedly reduce the experimental cycle.In order to achieve the properties required, we mainly studied the effects of factors on the properties of ambient-curing polyurethane elastomer. 1. Polyhydric alcohol. The trifunctional polyhydric alcohol is more, the elasticity coefficient and surface hardness are higher. 2. Catalyst. The appropriate dosage of catalyst is determinated. To N-330, it is 0.15%; to N-220, it is 0.35%. 3. Filler. The more the solid filler is, the higher the properties of polyurethane elastomer are. The effect of liquid filler is more perplexing.The bad compatibility of liquid petroleum resin and polyurethane system in the experiment is analyzed and solved by the way: adding solid filler first, then adding liquid filler in batches and stirring equably. The problem of air bladder in the reaction is also analyzed and solved in these ways: drying and dehydrate of the materials in advance; adjusting the dosage of defoaming agent; the blending of solid fillers. At last we reached the properties required in engineering use and the material can be put into use.
