The process of Decomposed Deposition and Sculpture (DDS) is a novel Rapid Prototyping process, which has not been studied by other universities or institutions in China. In this process, the layers are truly three dimensional in nature and are built using a combination of material deposition and material removal processes. DDS possesses the characteristics of both the flexibility in RP and the accuracy in mechanical manufacturing. In this thesis, the studies about the key problems and practical applications of integrated manufacturing device for DDS are done on the base of characteristics of DDS.Basing on the characters of support and part material and idiographic requirement of DDS process, this thesis gives the scheme of the general design for the two material's automatic extrusion and injection device, as well as the design and manufacture about every part of the device. The automatic extrusion device for support material includes three parts-screw extrusion system, temperature control system and stepping motor drive system, and the core of the device is screw. The automatic injection device for part material is also composed of three parts—material mixture system, material transportation system and injection process control system, and the key problem is the design calculation and choice about material mixture system.Aiming at the difficult problem in design, such as temperature control of support material, multi-component mix and fix-proportion injection about part material, precise control of deposition track and capacity about two material, the thesis gives optimal solution through undermentioned methods—PWM power control, the special coaxial machinery for 'motor, feed-canister and screw, static mixers, the fix-proportion injection canister, the appropriative cylinder. Further more, the other function parts of the device is analysed and contrasted in detail in this thesis. Finally, the integrated manufacturing device for DDS is manufactured, and its main function parts is analysed by theory and validated by experiment.In addition, for many correlative matters in practical applications of DDS, such as themethods to decompose 3D-CAD model, the calculation of machining track and the building of NC code, tool choice, material matching and parameter optimization, etc., this thesis gives detailed analysis and technology integration.
