With the increasing development of the power electronic technology ,the power management IC (integrated circuit) has been developing towards high integration, high performance-price ratio and high-efficiency. Thin, light and ultra small power modules and more efficient power products with less pollution will be favorable in the twenty-first century. Based on the switch control voltage boost principle, novel DC-DC converters are designed using CMOS technology, achieving high stability low power consumption and high conversion efficiency of light load. The architecture is simple, with high respond speed, high stability and capability of begin working under the 1 volt voltage. The output voltage is ranging from two volts to seven volts. The static input current is as low as decades uA, achieving high conversion efficiency. This circuit can be widely used in PDA, camera, digital camera, electronic toys and portable products etc. In this dissertation, the principles of DC-DC converter are given firstly. And then the circuit architecture is designed according to its function requirements. All the sub-blocks circuits are designed and stimulated with cadence and hspice. The results indicate the fulfillments of all performance merits. At last the whole circuit is simulated and shows that the desired functions and performances are achieved .The layout is designed with virtuoso layout editor, then the DRC and LVS are performed.
