Piled raft foundation is one of the foundations of high buildings. Some research results have been made on the piled raft foundation presently, but the understanding of its working mechanism is not clear enough. This problem becomes more complicated, especially when involved with the interaction among piled raft, soil and upper structure. So it will need further in-depth studies.In this paper, the research achievements of piled raft and interaction theory at home and abroad are summarized comprehensively. Based on this, a kind of pile-soil interaction model is established utilizing FLAC-3D numerical analysis procedure, which can consider the contact and slip between pile and soil and corresponds to the fact relatively. Then apply this model to the analysis of interaction. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Analyze the working behaviors of a single pile under vertical load, comparing the results with the field measurements, and they are identical.(2) The three-dimension analysis model is established using FLAC-3D procedure, and numerical simulation is used to study the interaction among upper structure, piled raft foundation and soil under vertical load. The settlement of foundation, the internal force of raft, the distribution of load carried by piles and the internal force of upper structure and so on have been discussed systematically. In this paper, construction process is considered truly and the variational rules along with the construction are studied. Besides, the effects of different thickness of the raft are analyzed, and the differences of internal force of upper structure are investigated using conventional method and interactional analysis method. Then some useful conclusions are achieved.(3) The interaction among upper structure, piled raft foundation and soil under lateral load is studied. Computations are conducted both by interactional analysis method and conventional method, to show the effects of the two methods on the lateral displacement and internal force of the upper structure.
