The high energy and high strength gun propellants were prepared in different technical processing and discussed through theory and experiment. The main mesh work was established with nitrate ester plasticized poly (ether urethane) system. The energetic characteristics of these high energy and high strength gun propellants were calculated and designed in theory. The mechanical behavior of these gun propellants were discussed by tension testing machine and shock testing machine. The neutral polymeric bonding agent (NPBA) was synthesized and applied to the gun propellants. Some factors that affect the properties of gun propellants such as component proportion, temperature, molecular weight of NPBA were discussed. The technical processing was studied. The best conditions were obtained, and the combustion performance of gun propellants was studied by mean of DSC thermal analysis, closed bomb etc.The results indicate that this type of gun propellant has high energy. The gun propellants with poly (ether urethane) main mesh work have better mechanical behavior than nitramine propellants, especially in shock intensity. The NPBA is effective in reinforcing the gun propellants. This type of gun propellant has wide prospects.
