Because of unique climatic condition and geological condition in perennially frozen soil zone, structural design of asphalt pavement in this area has its particularity. There is general inhomogeneous melt settlement deformation in perennially frozen soil zone, which makes additional stress is created in pavement structure. This article calculates the values of additional stress separately with analysis and finite-element method, analyzes influencing factors of additional stress and calculated method of additional stress is given. The paper also calculates the stress response when traffic load on the pavement structure, carries out sensitivity analysis of influencing factors of load stress and obtains calculated method of load stress at last.The paper completes design specification against particularity in perennially frozen soil zone, presents design method of asphalt pavement and typical asphalt pavement structures which are all fit for perennially frozen soil zone.
