Rock mass is synthetic geologic mass, lied in definite geologic surrounding, divided by various structure plane and had definite engineering geologic characteristic. Structure plane is a fracture plane or substance differentiation plane in rock mass. It controls the distortion, the breakage, and the stability of rock slope.In this thesis, taken the structure plane developed in rock slope of arch dam at right side of Goupitan hydropower station as the object, the geometry character parameters, such as orientation, spacing and density, size and aperture were analyzed by using the theory and method of probability and statistics. The probability models, which were used to depict these parameters, were obtained. And the models for shear strength parameters of structure plane were obtained by using the theory and method of Bayes. The distribution condition of structure plane in slope zone was simulated by using computer simulation technique, and some parameters, such as the size and depth of random block, obtained. The stability of random block was analyzed briefly.The rock mass classification, which reflects the intrinsic property and the mechanics characteristic of rock and relates to the senior or inferior grade of rock mass, engineering applicability, availablity and the methods that treat with the rock mass, is always one of the main problems in hydropower station construction. With the combination of geologic and engineering conditions, seven indexes, which are the intactness index of rock mass, the saturated uniaxial compressive strength of rock mass, the state of structure plane, the developed degree of structure plane, the permeability of rock mass, the deformation character and the developed status of karst and fault, were chosen, divided every index into different grade, acquired the weight of every index by using method of fuzzy maths. Partitioned the rock mass of slope into five grades by added the score of every index. A new formula was brought out on the classification of rock mass: RQ = 0.352RQD + 0.037R_b +0.104J + 0.242D + 0.160ω + 0.037E + 6.8A. According to the research result, it brought out a composite method about the supporting of the slope in this paper.
