With the increase of unit capacity in the electric net and the adjustment of electric consumption structure, it is inevitable for large capacity and high parameter unit to be operated in off-design condition. Most units in our country run in 65-75 percent design condition, which results in that the energy consumption of unit is far more than its design value. In addition, computer technologies and industrial control technologies are extensively applied in power plant and great progress has been made in the field of energy saving theory of thermal system for power plant, which has been fundamental technology means for on-line monitoring of thermodynamic system's performance in power plant. Based on this condition, we put forward the thesis- on-line analyzing thermal economy and optimizing parameters for unit in off-design condition of power plant, whose purpose is to monitor the running state of unit and to look for the true reason for higher energy consumption. Through analysis and calculation, the economic live steam pressure for unit in the current load can be get, which can be used to guide the unit running economically and to provide basis for the unit to run in energy saving and optimizing state.Based on the elementary turbine work done principle, the off-design condition characteristics of unit are related in the paper, and we mainly discussed the thermal process changes caused by disturbance which affects thermal economy. According to the thermo-economy system state equation and disturbance ordinal unchaining means, we analyzed the thermal economy for unit in off-design condition. In the latter part of the paper, method of determining economic live steam pressure for sliding pressure operation unit is primarily discussed, which is a base for unit optimizing operation.In the latter part of the paper, the project design, system function and some technical index and existing problems of the "thermo-economics analysis and parameter optimization for thermal system for unit in off-design condition system" are related. In one hand, the manager in the power plant can acquire the operating state and existing problems of the unit from the running system, and instruct the unit operation and equipments maintenance. In the other hand, it is helpful for the operating employees to understand the responsibility of the post and the gain they can bring, which can promote them to improve the operating mode and to adjust efficiently. It is proved that the mathematic model in the paper is precise and the system's results based on the model accord with the realistic running status, which can be used to instruct the operation efficiently. Accordingly, this system is reasonable and is very valuable to be applied and to be popularized.
