Circle-trough double universal joint is an important power transmission part of the screw pump, at present in our country this part basically depend on overseas importation, and there is no corresponding designing method in domestic design manual.This paper's research provides the theoretical fundation for this universal joint's design and the use, which has the important theoretical and practical value.Based on the theory of spatial mechanism, the mechanism analysis of circle trough double universal joint is conducted, the kinetic law, the law of load of the intermediate shaft and the efficiency formula of this universal joint as well are deduced.The finite element model of intermediate shaft is established based on ANSYS software, and its mechanic model of cosines law is proposed, by using ANSYS's APDL language to program to load, the transient dynamic analysis of structure is conducted, the changing law of stress is obtained.Based on the virtual prototyping technology, and by adopting the multi-body dynamic analytical software virtual.lab, the multi-rigid body model of universal joint is established, kinematic and dynamic simulation of universal joint system is carried out. Through comparing the simulation results with the theoretical value, the correctness of this model is verified.Based on multi-rigid-body model, making the intermediate shaft flexible, the rigid-flexible coupled model of the universal joint is established.dynamic simulation of this virtual prototype is carried out, the operating performance of universal joint is analyzed, and the dynamic response of intermediate shaft is achieved.According to the result of Stress-time history of intermediate shaft, the fatigue analysis of intermediate shaft is conducted based on the fatigue analysis module of virtual.lab, the fatigue damage region and the fatigue life of intermediate shaft is got.In the conventional analytical method of structure dynamics, the intermediate shaft is always separated alone from the universal joint system, the computation is done after some simplification, and there are some error between its resulets and reality.taking into account the flexible deformation of intermediate shaft, this paper conducts the rigid-flexible coupled analysis of universal joint for the first time, which causes dynamic analysis of intermediate shaft to be closer to the reality, is the beneficial exploration into the research of this kind of universal joint's anslysis.
