Short Term Load Forecasting Techniques And Applications

Power system short-term load forecasting (STLF) has important function in the reliable, security, and economical operation of power system, it is of concern in daily work of power system, it is an important task of power units. Accurate load forecasting will improve operation security and stability and save the generation cost. Because of the complexities of loads, traditional load forecasting technology are more and more difficult to satisfy the requests of forecasting precision of electric power department;many kinds of new short-term load forecasting methods that domestic and international experts and scholars put forward have their shortcomings each, which have restricted their application in actual load forecasting.This paper introduce constituent and characteristic of electric load, expatiate the principle of electric power load forecasting, the origination and development, the general aspect of present domestic and international electric power load forecasting. After analyze and compare the strongpoint and shortage for the common methods of load forecasting, this paper has deeply research in Shengli oilfield power gird with grey theory forecasting. As Shengli oilfield power gird to forecasting object, use improved grey forecasting model on short-term load forecasting. The forecasting results state that the model using for short-term load forecasting is comparatively satisfied and could satisfy the request of practical production. This paper bring forward researching constitution for power system short-term load forecasting in Dongying regionality.
