As the electronic equipments used broadly in our lives, the mini scale and low cost devices became more and more popular. At the same time, the levels that power for the portable appliances need to be improved as well. It's time to build a novel power system with high efficiency and good load response characteristic. The monolithic DC-DC converter was developed rapidly in recent years, which has the virtues of compact size and high performance. The switch power systems composed of single-chip integrated DC-DC controllers stand for an intendance of modern DC power supplies and were widely applied in the fields of communication, portable computers and the other consumable. The market demanding for monolithic DC-DC switch controller will be swelling up for a long time.Based on the increasing battery-powered portable equipments, the author analyzed the primary modulating ways adopted in DC-DC power system at first, and reached the conclusion that the current control PFM modulation is able to satisfy the special requirements of mobility devices'power supplying system.Then, a peak current control PFM DC-DC boost converter was presented, which integrated with under voltage, over voltage, current limit and soft start protecting blocks. A fine power converted system could be set up only with this DC-DC converter and several extra components. The system operates in current mode, has wide input voltage range and possesses the advantages of high efficiency, low power and good large signal property.At the end of the thesis, a typical application of this controller IC was given as well. Through HSPICE simulation on computer, the circuitry introduced in the dissertation was proved to be a satisfying power supplying system. It could be applied in the following occasion, PDA, digital camera, pocket PC and smart phone. The great features of the whole power converter system are listed as follows. 1.
