As a new imaging technology, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging technology has evolved to satisfy a variety of application for both civilian and military users. The echo signal simulation is very important to the study of the SAR system and the imaging methods are the foundation of the technology of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) simulation. Because the truths of the echo signal simulation are directly influenced by the accuracy of the simulation algorithms. This dissertation investigated the problem for simulation of SAR raw signal, focusing on the terrain-echo simulation and the product of echo data. We also discussed the influences of typical errors for the point target model and got the more real echo of point target model. In addition, this dissertation also introduced the hardware structure of this project, and we implemented the function of the module of FPGA in the simulation software by means of the HDL language.Firstly, the principle of high resolution SAR,the theoretical imaging model and the point target model were concisely introduced, and we discussed some algorithms for the SAR echo simulation. On this basis, we created simulation models for echo signals of SAR, analyzed several typical errors and got the point target echo with these errors. Further more, this dissertation discussed the structure of the hardware system, and focused on the implementation of the protocol for the transmission with the DSP module by using link port and the module of signal convolution. This project will realize the SAR echo signal simulation system, which is valuable in military and civil application. The work of this dissertation is one of the most important parts for this project, which is significant in achieving this project.
