Today, research of reliability analysis has become an effective approach to improve the safety and performance of complex system, to enhance system life-span, to save manpower and to shorten system cost. How to improve the safety, reliability and validity of complex control system is more important than how to improve the performance of system for the control system of the Three Gorge Lift-ship Machine.This paper mainly relays on the Task of National Key Technological Project—Two Lines Five-step Ship-gate System equipment manufacture , and Lift-ship Machine and its key technique research in mid-test and equipment manufacture in Three Gorge hydraulic hinge project. The Automation Control and Monitor of Lift-ship Machine is chiefly researched. On this paper, reliability analysis of control system , fault-tolerant control system design and their applications in Three Gorge hydraulic hinge project is studied systematically.The main research work and achievements are included as follows:1. Summarizing the development of reliability analysis of control system and theory of fault-tolerant control system. The reliability analysis methods and characteristics are compared.2. This paper discusses the technique and characteristics of Lift-ship Machine control system which has been built. Reliability analysis of the Three Gorge Lift-ship Machine control system is researched.3. This paper discusses method to reliability analysis of control system, mathematic model and its calculation. Moreover, fault-tree analysis and its application is researched.4. To improve reliability and to decrease system cost, redundancy design in system week tache is recommended. Based on redundancy system cost optimization model, some algorithms are given .5. Integral fault-tolerant controller is designed against part of actuators or sensors failure after analyzing function redundancy system, which can improve system reliability and decrease the loss of system performance by designing redundant some less reliable components.6.
