Due to the higher methanol mutual diffusion coefficient and long price of Nafion, Nation hadn't proceded merchant production but Nation was used comprehensively in proton exchange membrane fuel cell. So it is first and have to settle problem to exploit late model low cost proton exchange membrane in order to spread advanced application of PEMFC. Sulfonated polystyrene was provided with higher proton conductivity; Sulfonated poly methyl acrylate have tight molecular structure, strong mechanical intension and easy to cure. Sulfonated polysilane was a good film forming matter. So it is significant to do the research on these composite membranes.In this paper, Nation/polymeric composite membranes were prepared by recast membrane and polymerize in situ method. The composite membranes were characterized by IR and SEM methods. The sulfonations of polymeric were explored in details. The prepared conditions were determined. Difficult extent and wispy difference were discovered between Nafion and Nafion/polymeric composite membranes according to IR spectrum. Mass discrepancy of composite membranes less than Nafion at 80℃ were studied. Methanol permeation of the composite membranes and proton conductivity lower than Nafion were studied, combined performance index β was defined by logarithm of proton conductivity divide out methanol permeation coefficient, β of Nafion/SPS1 composite membrane(monomer) was optimized was confirmed and it was 6.1.
