Smoothness Of Asphalt Pavement Construction Quality Control

Along with the continuous development of national economy, constructions of highway develop rapidly. Simultaneously, the great growth of traffic volume, driving speed and the vehicle load set a higher request to the performance of pavement. As one of the most important index of performance of pavement, the smoothness of pavement directly affects the driving stationarity, comfortableness and speed of automobile.In order to guarantee smoothness of asphalt pavement, the control of construction quality is the most important. This topic analyzed the reasons which influence smoothness of asphalt pavement. Aiming at the actual project situation of Shanxi Province Yu Yan highway, the process and quality of construction were manipulatively researched to guarantee the pavement smoothness.The treatment of collapsible loess ground base, construction of subgrade, excavation and construction of cut-fill section were studied. The choice of construction machinery, construction plan and the quality control measure were put forward. Strong tamper and impact roller compaction are used in the treatment of collapsible loess and the effect is good. The relation between times of tamp and compactness, the change of collapse coefficient along with the depth of ground, relation between times of compaction and settlement, the change of ratio of settlement along with times of compaction and acceleration of compaction were obtained. This has provided the reliable technical guarantee to this road section construction.The construction quality control of cushion, subbase, base and surface were studied. The raw material and the mixture quality control target and the request and the detailed construction plan were put forward. The design of gradation, mixture, spread, compaction and joint treatment were emphatically discussed. Some measures to increase the performance of asphalt mixture were presented.
