Harmonics On Electric Energy Metering

In recent years, more attention is paid to the question of harmonic because of the application of power electronic installation day by day widespread. Many non-linear loads, such as computer, speed controlled motor, electric stove, rectifier power source and many power electronic installations, can produce the harmonic current and the harmonic voltage in the electrical network, cause harmonic pollution, deteriorate power quality and influence to the work of the electric transmission equipment, the measuring device, the communication equipment, the metering device and relay protection.The electric energy metering is an important link to the electric power production, sales as well as the electrical network safe operation .And the electric energy metering is the basis of electrical network economic accounting, because it not only relates to the electric power production department's security economy operation and economic efficiency, but also relates to the entire national economic efficiency and social efficiency. The electric energy transaction process is implemented through the metering device. Whether accurate or not the metering device is, involves the benefit of electric utility and electric power users, directly relates to the accuracy of electric power industry technology economic indicator and fair of energy metering.In this paper the effect of harmonic power on metering of electric energy is mainly discussed.
