This article is based on the protection design of 02# generator transformers in Shandong Aluminum Corporation(SALCO) self-power plant It is the assemble of protection and analysis to generator transformer, which can provide certain reference to the protection and compound.This article explains to us the history and the things present of the development of transformer protection.During the development of computer protection, especially in the protection to the main equipment, which has already taken the place of the only protection of relay, and becomes the first choice of electricity system protection.Generator and transformers are the important parts in electricity system, whose equipment is too expensive as well as the protection .The protection of generator and transformer should reflect correctly in time .The software in the computers realizes the protection, which can completely gain best protection according to different conditions.When something wrong happens in the inner of generators and transformers, the best protection can get rid of it quickly.In this protection, different kinds of protections have their own ranges of protection .So the article will analyze the principle of protection , advantages and disadvantages in all kinds of protections and protecting ranges, actions' order and the way of time calculating. After having studied carefully how the protection worked, we think it necessary to make a further study to this certain protection. In order to make the results more system and more practical, we have used themost widely used electricity system--EMTDC, and set up this kind of model system toexperience and drawn the conclusion.After the first electric current mutual inductance, the feature doesn't change, either .When transformers are fully running, the original electric current is nearly sine wave, while the certain protection avoid adjusting the largest peak load, so the certain protection will not change by mistake.
