GPRS is a kind of important wireless communication technology; it is the crucial step of existing GSM wireless network transition to 3G network. It has high transfer rate with low costs and can interconnect directly with Internet. The remote monitoring system of vessel based on GPRS is to utilize GPRS technology to control the inland river running vessels real-timely and remotely.This system will reduce the emergence of the aquatic traffic accident and offer strong support for improving the vessel management automatic level at the same time by managing and attempering the work vessels effectively.The main research contents of this paper are to utilize GPRS and Internet, combine GPS, utilize 32 bit ARM microprocessors and μC/OS-II embedded real-time operating systems, realize the vessel monitoring terminal of the remote monitoring system of vessel.This paper carries on more detailed analysis to GPRS network and uC/OS-II real-time operating system at first, introduces the system's structure and functions subsequently, and introduces the details of the vessel monitoring terminal's software and hardwares' designing and debugging at last.The vessel monitoring terminal that this paper designs adopts Samsung S3C44B0X processor as CPU, adopts Motorola G20 and M12 as GPRS communication module and GPS positioning module respectively; the software is developed under uC/OS-II embedded real-time operating system according to the vessel monitoring terminal's functions. This paper has realized the vessel monitoring terminal's basic functions finally.The vessel monitoring terminal has been verifyied and passed the tests in the laboratory.
