When vehicles run on the pavement, sometimes, the asphalt pavement will be loaded with heavy vertical force and horizontal force. For the pavement with the asphalt mixture material of the ability of creep deformation, the permanent deformation and damage will generate under overload.Based on the theory of elastic layer, a suitable structural model with promising profiles was built. A three dimensional viscoelastic finite element analysis method is used to analyze the creep performance of the asphalt pavement. Firstly, the deflections of the asphalt pavement with smooth surface under different overloads are calculated, and the creep performance of asphalt pavement is analyzed. Secondly, the deflections and horizontal displacements of the asphalt pavement with coarse surface under different friction parameters are calculated, and the creep performance of asphalt pavement is analyzed. Finally, the creep performance of asphalt pavement with different creep parameters is calculated.The numerical results show that it is important to lighten pavement damage under overload by the selection of the reasonable ratios of asphalt to mixture materials and suitable creep parameters of asphalt.
