Because the bistatic sonar has many unique advantages in detecting underwater target, it has been taken as a focus point at present and in the future. In order to study bistatic ocean reverberation,three bistatic scattering models are developed.Some valuable conclusions are drawn by simulating models.The principles of bistatic sonar are discussed in the thesis,summing up the technical advantages of biatatic sanar,describing the geometry configuration of biatatic sonar,giving the bistaic sonar equation,and analyzing the location principles of bistatic sonar. The mechanism that produces the three types reverberation and the correlative characteristics of reverberation are discussed in the thesis. Some methods to restrain reverberation are developed.Three scattering models(bottom scattering model, surface scattering model and volume scattering model) of bistatic sonar are developed and simulated.The simulation results show that there are many factors to influence the reverberation, every factor has different contribution to influence the reverberation,the angles configurations and the characters of interface have main function, and the change of sound velocity to influence reverberation can be ignored.The conclusions drawn from the research can provide the reference to further research and devise the bistatic sonar.
