Pile-anchor retaining structure and soil nailing retaining structure are the two most frequent applications among the numerous retaining structures in our country at the present time and they get applied to foundation pits continually and extensively. It proves that the combined retaining structure of pile-anchor and soil nailing formed by the two retaining structures is successful in practice. But the correlative theories of the combined retaining structure of pile-anchor and soil nailing lag the engineering practices distinctly. It badly influences it's furthermore application in foundation pit project.The distribution of earth pressure between the combined retaining structure is one of the key questions urgently to be solved. In this paper, the distribution mechanism of earth pressure is the main content to be studied. The distribution mode of earth pressure of the combined retaining structure of pile-anchor and soil nailing is introduced based on the supposition of working in coordination and the data of surveying at building site. The main research harvests gain in this paper include:(1) The work mechanism of the combined retaining structure of pile-anchor and soil nailing is summarized. The potential combined forms of pile-anchor retaining structure and soil nailing retaining structure and the principle of the optimization in types choice of combined retaining structure are analyzed. There are two main sorts in the combined form: combined vertically and combined levelly. The principle of types choice is the surroundings around foundation pit.(2) The deformation mode of the combined retaining structure of pile-anchor and soil nailing is expounded. The distribution mechanism of earth pressure of combined retaining structure based on working in coordination and deformation in coordination is studied and put forward. The distribution coefficient of earth pressure of the combined retaining structure of pile-anchor and soil nailing ψ is introduced (ψ isthe scale of the earth pressure that the soil nailing retaining structure shares).(3) The potential failure types of the combined retaining structure is analyzed.
