The CFST girder and arch combination bridge is developing rapidly in recent years due to its elegant appearance and economical span. As a new structural system, the dynamic property and seismic behavior of this type of bridge can not keep up with its construction. The seismic performance of structures can be improved significantly via seismic isolation. It is necessary to carry out considerable research on technology of seismic isolation about girder and arch combination bridges.Based on comprehensive collection of existing research documents in and beyond the country, the development and present situation of vibration absorb technology in the world is introduced and the operation mechanism, mechanical characteristics and parameters calculation of LRB (Lead-Rubber-Bearing) are analyzed in this paper. With engineering concrete example, based on spacial finite element model, the effect of dynamic property by LRB of girder and arch combination bridge is discussed. The Seismic behavior of a general structure model and a isolation structure model are analyzed. Using the response spectrum and the time-history methods, the seismic reduction effectiveness of LRB is studied.The research results showed that the earthquake effect of the CFST girder and arch combination bridges can be reduced significantly via LRB seismic isolations. It is possesses satisfactory aseismic behavior.
