| The generator core fault involves many factors such as design, manufacture and operation of generator, electromagnetic force, mechanical force, thermal stress and so on which brings hidden trouble to the unit, even causes the serious safety accident and huge losses to the customers.Generally ,the stator core fault includes loosening of effective laminated core ,damage of patch insulation , deflection or drop of end press finger , vibration of core , excessive heat of end , damage of stator core caused by earthing of wingings .Based on that the manufacture and research of WX series of air cooled turbo-generator stator core of Shandong Qilu Electrical Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd with years of introducing and absorbing the technique of ALSTOM, combing the experience and lessons of handling the stator core fault of the same industry factories and customers home and abroad, the thesis comprehensively analyzes the factors that would affect the stator core quality from the aspect of design, manufacture, testing, inspection, operation, maintenance, service of the stator core of turbo-generator of big capacity, and provides the practical and effective solutions.In addition, many analyzing methods adopted in the thesis have been applied with fine effect in the projects: the national new product --220 MW generator and the design and manufacture of stator core of 330MW air cooled generator (the biggest capacity in the world) cooperated with ALSTOM of France.This paper puts emphasis on discussing that it should depended on different cooling method to select suited thickness of lamination packet and width of air path ,and to distribute reasonably every lamination packet , so as to advance the cooling effect .on the choice of main material core -silicon steel sheet ,the quality of homemade silicon steel sheet is affirmed according to experiment .
