Wind tunnel wall interference is still an obstacle in the way of promoting the accuracy of aerodynamic testing data which are now required more highly than ever before. Wall adaptation is a new established concept in wind tunnel test. In this paper, research works have been reported on the application of adaptive wall wind tunnel and experimental techniques for half model test, which are mainly concerned in the following aspects:1. A wall adaptation strategy is put forward to test half model in two dimensional adaptive wall wind tunnels. It only needs to measure the pressure along any streamline of the top and bottom wall. The transformable target line without wall interference can be chosen according to the test model to improve the residual interference distribution in model area. The experimental tests have been performed to verify the method in NPU two dimensional adaptive wall wind tunnel. The results show that this method can increase the efficiency of adaptive wall wind tunnel and reduce the requirement of test equipments.2. A strategy which integrates the principle of adaptive wall wind tunnel and wall signature method is put forward to wall interference corrections. The speed difference between inside flow and outside flow can export the wall interference in inside flow. The test results of straight wall have been compared with it in DLR. At last, the test results in adaptive state have been corrected.
