Vanadium flow batteries can be widely used as generating electricity facilities of solar energy and wind energy, electric vehicle power supply equipments, the electric power supply system in an emergency, and energy store-up devices for an electric station at the situation of superfluous electricity supply and so on, thus they have been widely studied and became the attention-getting chemical power system.The main purpose of this research is to study the preparation techniques of the electrolyte solutions, electrode and their electrochemical property. AC impedance spectrum, CV, Tafel and charge and discharge techniques were employed to characterize the electrolyte solutions , the electrode and the battery .The preparation techniques of the electrolyte solutions were studied, and semi-industry experimentations were studied. Using metallurgy vanadium product manufacturing electrolyte solutions. We can manufacture 3kg VOSO4 every time in laboratory. At the same time, We studied the method of the analysis of mixtures of vanadium(V) and vanadium(IV), vanadium(IV) and vanadium(III) or vanadium(III) and vanadium( II).The activation treatment techniques of the polypropylene graphite felt(GF) electrode were studied. The electrochemical performance of the PAN electrode had been improved significantly by heat treatment. Tested the battery, voltage is 1.48V, voltage efficiency is 69% , cell efficiency is 85% level, energe density is 28Wh/L.
