This thesis makes a further research and discussion on power system topology analysis which is an important content in power system real-time analysis; summarizes the physical principle of the algebraic analysis algorithm, i.e. incidence matrix algorithm after comparing every analysis methods' characteristic, and proposes a power system topology analysis method that based on incidence matrix algorithm's improvements.Network topology connectivity analysis could be converted to algebraic linear equation calculation when topology is expressed in the form of incidence matrix. On this point, this thesis utilizes general multiplication and addition operations, proposes a topology analysis method for power system that is based on Gaussian elimination and similar to solution for linear equations. The process of topology analysis method could be divided into decomposition, forward deduce, back deduce three steps. Meanwhile, considering characteristic of the Gaussian elimination algorithm, sparse technique and section technique are introduced to improve the efficiency of topology analysis facing large-scale network. In order to reduce calculation, a recessive search idea which takes advantage of transferring quality of nodes' connectivity is used to scan matrix to ascertain connected nodes piece and back deduce step can be avoided.Based on the above mentioned standpoints, a decomposition and coordination thought which makes station topology independent to each other is introduced to power system topology analysis model after defining several related conceptions. Under this thought, network topology is formed by utilizing inherent attachment between transmission line and station topology when all the stations analysis are accomplished. Then network topology analysis is proceeded to finish the intact topology analysis.State estimation, which is the platform of further applications, is the direct beneficiary of topology analysis; this thesis conducts some research to the contribution of PMU in state estimation based on PMU and SCADA hybrid measurements after discussing the integration between topology analysis and state estimation. Utilizing a simulation analysis by probabilistic statistics, contribution of PMU measurements' high accuracy in state estimation is confirmed after quantitative analysis.A simple power system model with 3 stations and 36 elements is introduced to illustrate the process of station-network modeling, Gaussian elimination analysis, measurements categorizing, subsystem observability checking and hybrid state estimation with PMU/SCADA data that are involved in this thesis. It has been proved by practical commissioned project application that the topology analysis method this thesis mentioned has a distinct conception, definite logic and sufficient ability of meeting real-time needs.
