With the continuous development of ships' power system, more and more nonlinear loads, such as rectifier loads and impulse loads, are added increasing to the modern ships' power systems. The existence of these nonlinear loads in ships' power systems will results in bad power quality, such as voltage distortion, voltage fluctuation, voltage flicker and three-phase unbalance. So, how to improve ships' power quality and ensure these sensitive electronic equipment's reliable and economical operation becomes a stringent and important task, which has attracted great attentions of shipping industry. In this dissertation, we introduce a set of online ships' power quality system which is based on DSP(Digital Signal Processor). The DSP chip's strong operation capability is made full use in the system, which can detect the wave distortion of power quality online, display real-time measured data, and provide accurate data to power quality assessment and improvement.Structure of the dissertation: first of all, with surrounding subject of power quality, the concept power quality, the problem and cause of ships' power quality are brought forward. Then, this dissertation reviews the development of electrical quality detecting field in the world, summarizes the problems that occur in existing electrical quality detecting, states some important indexes of ships' power quality. In the following, the characteristic and development, the capability and choosing criterion of DSP processor are presented. And then the detailed description of hardware of this detecting equipment is introduced: design of data sampling and A/D transition; design of DSP unit; design of A/D transition, and so on. Finally the software design of electrical quality detecting system based on DSP is introduced, and the errors that occur possibly are analyzed.The detecting equipment introduces chip TMS320LF2407A of TI company as central processor. It can detect real-time parameters of power quality. In addition, for the sake of avoiding frequency-band overlapping in sampling, a method of digital filter is introduced.
