With the development of absorbing material application in military and industry,the importance of this research subject is increasingly emphasized. The principle,classification, and characteristic of microwave absobing composite material wereintroduced in this thesis.Firstly, the calssification of the microwave absorbent was summarized, and theadvantage of hexaferrite was analyzed in this thesis. Then, our main work was focusedon the properties of hexaferrite at high frequencies beyond 10GHz. The crystal structureof M and W type ferrite under various magnetization and anisotropy field was studied.The deficient iron quantity of the composition was adjusted by fitting the millingtime. The influence of Co+2 ion in W type hexaferrites on the magnetization and theanisotropy field was investigated too. The sintering density of hexaferrite was improvedby adding proper assisted flux. The problem of Ba2+ escaping was solved by addinganother material in milling process.The problem of the deformation of ferrite absorbent was solved by the method ofpresintering at high temperature and secondary sintering at a lower temperature.The absorbent with absorbing band at 8~18GHz and maxium absorption at 20dBwas developed.
