Taking Into Account The Power System Transient Stability Constraints In The Electricity Market Congestion Management

Under electric power market circumstance, Transmission congestion has been a question that should be solved as soon as possible. In this paper, a new method is proposed to manage the transmission congestion under the transient stability security constraints based on predecessor's study.Through many practical experiments, the rule is studied between instability index and transform of generators'power. Based on the above facts, this paper applies trajectory analysis method to congestion management, and a new method is proposed to manage the transmission congestion under the transient stability security constraints. It combines the stability constraint and the transient constraint, uses the method of distributed computing, targeting various models in the electric market, utilizes different strategy, to moderate the output power of the system generators. Congestion problem is solved under all security constraints.EPRI36 node system is used as example, congestion management strategies is analyzed under pool model, bilateral model, and the compound model in the transient stability constraints, and the effectiveness of the method is verified.
