Photographic Equipment And Technology Research

Nowadays, with the fast development of photography and the incoming of digital era, digital video has become a hot research topic. However, the teaching facilities for photography education in some existing academies are too inadequate to satisfy the demand of the subject development. In addition to well-found film studio and traditional darkroom, digital labs should also be built to meet the requirement. The diverse development of photography and the import of different languages not only enrich the photography itself, but also enlarge its development field. Due to PC hardware/software development as well as the popularization of digital technology, existing photography will more focus on fully-purposed and easy-to-use digitalized method rather than traditional technology. In today's photography teaching, facilities such as film studio and traditional darkroom are totally far from enough. To advance with the times and keep up with the worldwide photography, it is very urgent to set up a digital lab of bright room & darkroom for our photography teaching. Creation of this lab will not only improve school's hardware facilities, but also enrich what we are teaching, thus improving student's hands-on ability as well as their competitive advantage in the talented market. Besides, hardware and software in the lab are also very important. With the constant changing of PC hardware, wasting of hardware resource caused by technology elimination is more considerable and severer than hardware elimination caused by material consumption. Meanwhile, with the fast software development and its increasing update, what should be intensively researched includes how to plan the lab, to choose related apparatus, to properly set it up, especially, how to properly choose hardware to make good use of university's capital investment. By quite a lot of data collection, analysis & research and constant comparison, we will get a conclusion of architecture plan for optimal digital lab of bright room & darkroom in this paper.
