This article summarized the structure and the physico-chemical properties of the nickel electrode active material, the preparation of the nickel hydroxide and nanometer nickel hydroxide, the research,application and development condition of the nickel electrode preparation craft aspect.The experiment prepares the nickel hydroxide powder through chemistry precipitation method, through the orthogonal experiment,the single factor experiment has conducted the system research to the nickel hydroxide preparation craft, obtained the superior craft parameter: the optimum condition for the reaction temperature is 50 degree,the ammonia water density is 0.40mol/L,the agitation intensity is strong,the pH value is 10. Researched to the nickel hydroxide powder's body structure and the appearance by the XRD test method,SEM test method and so an. The result indicated that, the synthesized nickel hydroxide grain's shape with chemistry precipitation method are irregular, the particle size is 2-20 micron, the reunion phenomenon is serious. XRD demonstrates: the synthesized Ni(0H)2 powder areβ-Ni (OH)2, has six side crystal structure, the diffraction spectral line anisotropic width has reflected the nickel hydroxide in preparation process crystallization growth structure.The discovery through analysis is that, the ammonia water density,the pH value,the temperature,the synthesis agitation intensity has the tremendous influence to the nickel hydroxide electrochemistry performance. The crystal structure and the morphology of the product may be controlled through the ammonia water's concentration, and the electrochemistry performance of nickel hydroxide influenced by it. The excessively high or excessively low's reflection temperature are all disadvantageous to the nickel hydroxide electrochemistry performance.The ammonia water density increases 0.4mol/L from 0.12mol/L,the peak electric of the reduce peak increases gradually, in the electric discharge process, the response polarization of nickel electrode are getting smaller, responds activeness are increasing, too; The ammonia water density increases 0.68mol/L from 0.4mol/L, the peak electric of the reduce peak reduce gradually, in the electric discharge process, the response polarization of nickel electrode are more and more serious, responds activeness are reducing, too. In the process of the ammonia water density from small to high , the peak potential of the reduce peak moves negative first, then moves to positive electrode, explained that the electrode invertibility reduces first, then increases.At present, the research about Ni(OH)2 is basically in the stage of preparation and improving of materials. The researches about the relation between the electro-chemical action and the preparation technology and the electro-chemical process in the cell are seldom reported. By choosing the appreciative technological conditions, the paper seeks the effective method of improving the performance of nickel electrode. However, there are many problems which will be explored, studied and solved in the future. The further study on the preparation technology will go a further step of increasing the whole performance of nickel-hydrogen cell and promoting its application and spread.
