The basic work for geotechnical engineering design and analysis is how to measure the rock mechanics parameters.Generally, in order to reduce work-load and save research-fund, the limited measured value of the indoor-experimental samples and regression analysis of data collated to determine rock mechanics parameters must be applied. The test result of rock mechanic parameters has certain uncertainty because of the certain limitation of testing method and condition and so on. Uncertainties include randomness and fuzziness. It is inappropriate to process the value of the indoor-experimental samples with the traditional mathematical statistic method, we ought to seek the best mathematical regression analysis methods to deal with relevant test results.This thesis takes the project of Yunnan DaHongShan-iron-ore as the background of research. The author's summaries of main research are as follows:(1) The data of joint rock mass occurrence which was measured by traditional method was not accurate in the investigation region interfered in magnetic field. In order to content the needs of this work, the author sums up an effective method to survey hydrologic and engineering geology in a large iron ore. With this method, the rock mass joint occurrence in the region interfered in a magnetic field still can be measured by geological compass and then it can be accurately ascertained by a simple checkout;(2) Through regression analysis of the results about changing the angle to uniaxial compression and triaxial compression tests, the author obtained the least squares parabola regression analysis results. When it compared with random-fuzzy regression analysis result, the two results are similar. In order to optimize the computed result and avoid the tedious computation, we could use the results of the least squares parabola regression analysis to substitute the results of the stochastic random-fuzzy regression analysis;(3) In this thesis, the author introduced some methods how to determine the mechanical parameters of rock mass. Based on the data of deformation and strength from tests and the statistics of rock mass joint occurrences from site, Hook-Brown criterion was applied to estimate the deformation and strength parameters of hard jointed rock masses. Based on comparative study, the rationality of Hook-Brown criterion was further explained.
