The tensile strength standard value of 500MPa steel bar is 500MPa. It is a new type steel bar which has many merits, such as high-strength and strong ductility. This kind of steel bar has been used prevalently in foreign developed countries such as Europe and American. But it hasn't been taken in by new code for design of concrete structures (GB50010-2002). In order to take the internalization into reality as soon as possible and popularize this new kind of steel bar in engineering area of our country, the experiment researches should be done on the main characteristic of 500MPa reinforced flexural members.The basic material tension experiment is carried out to different diameters 8mm,12mm,16mm of 500MPa or ultra-fine grain 500MPa bars and the axis loaded is tested by the nine reinforced concrete puncheons used 500MPa steel bars .The results of test show :the real yield strength of steel bars triturated and exploited by my country exceeded 500MPa and the average elongation reach ten percent, and it proves that the ductility is good .The stress performance of axis loaded reinforced concrete puncheons used 500MPa steel bar is identical to the popular reinforced concrete puncheons, and high strength of 500MPa steel bar and concrete strength could be fully exploited. The calculation axis load is agree to the test load counted by applicable codes when the compressive strength of the bar is 450MPa and it has enough safe capacity.The experiment research shows that the bearing capacity of flexure member also can be calculated by the formula of right section in the Code for design of concrete structure (GB50010-2002). The structure have enough safe capacity when f'_y=450MPa . It provide commends for the 500MPa steel bars placing into the codes .Last, according to the existing research results, the method of simulation calculate to estimate the ultimate bearing capacity of axle loaded reinforced concrete puncheons is evaluated. With the contrast of test result and calculation result of ANSYS, the method of finite element is proved correctly , using the finite element analysis software ANSYS through simulation calculate to estimate the ultimate bearing capacity of axis loaded reinforced concrete puncheons are right and feasible .
