With the broad application of the automation control systems and the large development of industrial scale, manufactories ask for the running systems more reliable and safer. There are many factors for guaranteeing the systems' reliability and one of the most important one is the outer power's stability.Based on this, the dissertation made the research on the transformer fault diagnosis from the angle of transformer fault diagnosis. On the base of studying the constituents and contents of the transformer dissolved gas and the types of the inner transform and the relevant knowledge of the serious degree of faults, the author collected the history data of the transformer dissolved gas as the trained samples, used the Back Propagation (BP) neural network technology to set up a network model, made use of MATLAB software to compile the programs and trained the model, in the end, simulated the network by the test sample data to test the accuracy of the established network for judging the transformer faults.Simultaneously, this dissertation introduced two technology reconstructions in a certain thermal power plant. These two faults are respectively due to the fault of outer power, the limit power provided by UPS and the limitation of the locale condition, the fault brought about the serious accidences and the fault of MFT. Aimed at these problems, the author learnt the knowledge of the boiler construction, flow of work, and software and hardware of DCS systems produced by FOXBORO Company, finally, proposed the scheme and did the reconstruction which made great benefits for this plant.
